This Pre-Owned 2019 UK Wallace & Gromit 50p Proof Gold Coin was struck by The Royal Mint to mark thirty years since the release of A Grand Day Out, first shown on 4 November 1989. The film propelled the distinctively British characters Wallace and Gromit, along with their creator Nick Park, to international recognition.
The reverse of the coin features a design by Nick Park depicting Wallace and Gromit together, accompanied by the Latin inscription ‘CASEUS PRAESTANS’, meaning “cracking cheese”.
The obverse bears the fifth portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, together with the denomination of 50 pence.
This example has been independently graded PF70 Ultra Cameo by Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC). PF70 represents a flawless proof coin with no post-production imperfections visible under 5x magnification. The Ultra Cameo designation confirms strong contrast between the mirrored fields and frosted design elements. The coin has been authenticated, graded and sealed within an official NGC protective holder.
